Use case

A keypair is required for ssh connection to AWS instances. Such keypair has to be specified when launching a new TIBCO Jaspersoft^® for AWS instance using CloudFormation templates:

Steps

To create a new key pair, log into your AWS accounts and open Services -> EC2. Here, find the 'Key pairs' link and create a new key:

This should create a new key for you and also download the corresponding .pem file. Now you can use this key to create an SSH connection to the EC2 instance once it's launched. Note that some tools (like PuTTY) will require you to convert the key file from .pem to .ppk format in order to connect.
