in view menu, band's property

I saw "printWhen" expression.

how can I use that??

can I change band's color and background??

You can't use to print colors in the band itself, but you can workaroud this. I do this on reports to highlight exceptions, eg: when a variance is too great.

 

Add a block graphic to the band you want to hilight. Go to edit, send to back. On the properties of the graphcics in the print when add as logical expression. Eg: "new Boolean($F{fieldname}.doubleValue() > .5)" will print the colored box anytime fieldnames value is > .5. Its as simple as that. Hint: don't make your colors too dark or they are hard to read on paper.
