Issue with sub report parameter

I'm creating a report that contains a subreport. When I try to pass parameter with a fixed value, ex: new Integer(17) , I get the desired results. But, when I use a value from a field, like the primary key of the record from the master report, I get no result, dispite of seen the SQL been executed in the database. I'm using JasperReports ver. 0.6.1, and PostgreSQL : 7.4.2 . Please, need help on this, don't know what to try anymore.
