How to generate a report from a tablemodel?

Hi,

In our application we display lots of lists of data. Each has multiple columns and is therefore represented by a table model. The data is actually drawn by a custom renderer and shown in a JList.

 

We need to add a 'print report' feature to each form, which is quite generic (as is the underlying tablemodel).

Is there a good tutorial somewhere on how to dynamically build a JR from a table with a varying number of columns?

 

There is very little of the report which would stay the same from form to form; most of it will be different but it basically needs to reflect the data as seen on screen.
