PDF Font problem again

I do have the same problems with differently rendered PDFs created on Windows and Linux. I went thru the threads here and found many interesting mails regarding this subject.

 

What I still do not understand is:

- why are reports rendered differently, when PDF fonts are used, which seem to be part of the iText jar and therefore should be part of the shipped application?

- what are those AFM included in iText?

1.) PDF fonts are not used to render the report. You are just EXPORTING to PDF. The rendering is done by jasperreports with the installed fonts. There is determined the height of the fields. This height ist used for the PDF exporting too.
