Suppress blank pages where columnCount > 1

2006-03-13 13:21

Hello,

I have a report with its columnCount set to three. Its footer and summary bands are empty with heights set to zero. I'm running into the same issue mentioned in earlier posts: when data appears in the second or third column on the last page, an extra (blank) page is generated.

I just finished reading through a bug submission from a couple of years ago: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=1066716&group_id=36382&atid=416703. Teodord's response made sense. However, the difference in my case is that I have nothing in my footer and summary bands.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before and arrived at a clever workaround they'd be willing to share? If so, many thanks in advance!

Thanks and best regards,

Guy M.

Hi,

Hi,

You should remove the bands with height zero.

Anyway, this has been fixed a few weeks ago and

we check if the summary has zero height and

no elements.

I'm not sure it made it into the 1.2.0 release,

but you can check it on the CVS repository.

Thank you,

Teodor

Hi Teodor,

are you evaluating with this modification also the printWhenExpressions of bands BEFORE drawing the band? So that a negative printWhenExpression is considered for needed page height calculation and unused bands don't causes unnecessary pagebreaks

(I remember slightly that I've askes that question some weeks ago - but don't remember where it was! :-()
