MICR Font Spacing in pdf reports

2004-07-16 15:58

I am trying to print checks using the gnu MICR Font. I have done some validation of the font using Microsoft word and its proportions seem to be correct. However when I embed the font in a pdf report generated through Jasper it seems to reduce the spacing on the font. Is there some setting I can use to prevent this from happening? If not does this kind of partial distortion happen with all fonts? I have included the xml I use to include the MICR font and strip. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

<reportFont name="MICRFONT" isDefault="false" fontName="GnuMICR" size="12" isBold="false" isItalic="false" isUnderline="false" isStrikeThrough="false" pdfFontName="blackdog/GnuMICR.ttf" pdfEncoding="Identity-H" isPdfEmbedded="false"/>

<textField>

<reportElement positionType="Float" x="45" y="202" width="499" height="15"/>

<textElement verticalAlignment="Middle">

</textElement>

<textFieldExpressionclass="java.lang.String">$F{micrStrip}</textFieldExpression>

</textField>
