Excel formatting problem

Hi,I use Jasper to generate Excel xls files.

But I have the following problem :

Though I user the java.util.Date in the

textFieldExpression as a class, the cell in the Excell doesn't seem to have the correct format. The format stays "general" and not "date". Is it possible to format the cell as a Date using Jasper ?

I also tried using a pattern but this didn't work either.
