Is there a way to specify the band of "fixed-height" bands, such as the title?

I noticed that a probably unintended feature of Jasper is that if you have a subreport at the end of a fixed-height band, the band height will increase as much as needed by the subreport.

This is nice and saves space when there is no or few lines.

But in my case I have a big are where I may need 5 or more lines if there is data, otherwise I want these lines to dissapear (reduce the band height). The "remove line when blank" doesn't work on these bands.

 

Any ideas? Workarounds?
