Adding char literals n, t to String/Field?

Hi,

 

Is it possible to have char literals like "n" or "t" evaluated when the report is generated. For example say $F{ADDRESS} has the value "address1 n address2 n address3". Is there a way to get jasper to evaluate this and put in the newlines ? I know I could break it up into 3 fields and do $F{ADDRESS1} + "n" $F{ADDRESS2}...etc. but in my case this requires a lot of revamping.
