RadWaz
I will only add that switching to an older version of Java does not help, i.e. JasperSoft Studio requires version 17.
Jivan Phadtare
Which older version of java you tried ? Could you please try to Java version 11. Also, could you please check the java heap memory configured for studio. For windows the heap memory configuration is present in : "Jaspersoft Studio Professional.ini" file located at studio installed directory. C:\Program Files\TIBCO\Jaspersoft Studio Professional-8.0.0 Please check the memory configured for -Xms1 and -Xmx
RadWaz
Thank you for your answer. I checked java versions 11.0.20 but the latest studio still requires version 17. I will add that I use Ubuntu. I checked the memory settings: Xms128m Xmx2048m The studio I am trying to use is the latest 6.20.6. What should I do? Should I switch to an older version of Studio so that it will work on Ubuntu? I attached my .ini configuration Edited December 20, 2023 by RadWaz
RadWaz
I suspect that the change in Java version should be applied in two places, in the 'Jaspersoft Studio'.ini and eclipse.ini files. Am I right? Please confirm what Java configuration should run on Linux when using the latest version of Jaspersoft Studio

Jivan Phadtare
Additionally, you can check for the error log from studio by navigating to below path to get more details about the error. Help --> About Tibco Jaspersoft Studio --> click on "Installation Details" --> configuration --> View error log. Hope this will help you.
RadWaz
Ok, I probably installed something wrong. Meaning,. I checked the documentation, and there is a source build document that configures Eclipse for older Java. However, I don't use eclipse to run Studio. I have eclipse, but changes to it do not affect Studio. I installed the studio from here I have versions 8, 11 and 17 of Java installed in eclispse, but I have the impression that I should show Studio differently so that it uses the older version of Java. Can you help me? Or indicate how to properly install JasperSoft Studio on linux step by step?
