Display Message when total no of records is 0

I want to display a message to the user saying there are no records to display when a report query has zero records. I tried using REPORT_COUNT variable in PrintWhenExpression but could not get the desired result. I also tried creating a variable with calculation type "sum" with REPORT_COUNT in the variable expression(gave me null). That too din't work. Could you please help me out. Thanks in advance. Note: I do not want to display this msg when there are records available.
