tim.piekarski
I'm new to Jaspersoft so I apologize for newbie questions.I have a nbr of queries I run in MySQL and I'd like to run this out of Jaspersoft. Can I view the sql from an Adhoc View in Jaspersoft? Can I update that sql query or do I have to use the Jaspersoft UX with the columns, rows, filters? Thanks a ton
vchiem
The Ad Hoc Editor has a toggle option to enable users to view the SQL query. This can be turned on in the Ad Hoc Settings under Server Settings. You cannot edit the SQL query in the Ad Hoc Editor as it is generated based on the user adding columns, rows, filters within the UI.
Scott Andersen
You can use Jaspersoft Studio to execute a query in a report. That query can be used in the report itself or can be published as a Topic" to the server. Check out the Jaspersoft Studio User Guide for more information; https://community.jaspersoft.com/documentation/tibco-jaspersoft-studio-user-guide/v8/creating-and-uploading-topic-ad-hoc-views
