setPrintRepeatedValues for text field

I have a text field with a parameter expression that I would like to display only once in the detail band. It works for images, but doesn't seem to work for the text field, although the value for the parameter doesn't change. How do get a text field with a parameter to appear only once in the detail band?

Could I see your template? I don't really have a template. Everything's dynamic so I may have messed things up with all the set methods. It'd be helpful to have something to compare to.
