how you do you pin a filter dashlet into your dashboard?

I am attempting to add the filters as their own dashlet but I cannot find how to pin it in the dashboard.

You drag a filter from the left pane (under Filters section) onto the dashboard canvas and once this is done, the "Filter Group" dashlet is automatically created with the filter inside. You can then add more filters onto the same dashlet.
