Superscripts / Subscripts -- Possible?

I'd like to be able to denote 'cubic meters' in my text fields. I searched these forums for information about superscripts but I can't find anything, and google hasn't done me any good either.

 

I found that I can use an image and place it over a text field, but this method doesn't line things up very nicely, and isn't exactly elegant.

 

Is there any way to do this without using images?
