Exporting a report from once server to another

So my organization is new to Jasper Reporting. We use Broadcom's Service Desk Manager tool and they recently made Jaspersoft their reporting tool. I am wanting to build our reports in our DEV environment (DEV Jasper Server, DEV data source) and migrate it from DEV to QC and then to PROD.

I built the reports in Broadcoms user interface (Insights), and then am able to open up the report in JasperStudio. I am then able to take my DEV report and publish the report to a Jasper Server. So I select my DEV report, and go to publish it to my QC server. This works and I can then see my report in our QC environment, but I cannot actually view it. I just can see it but when I select it, it gets an error. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is there another way to migrate a report from one envionment to another?

A lot depends on what error the user is receiving. Publishing a report from Studio to the server is one way of getting the report onto that server but it requires the data source behind the report to be valid as well. Alternatively, there is the Export and Import facility that allows you to export the resource with its dependencies and import into the target environment. For a report this would be right click on the report and click on Export along with its dependencies. The Import can be done under the Server Settings tab. Migrating of resources 'generally' can be done for environments which has the same JRS version or from an older version to a higher version (there are exceptions) but not from a higher version to an older version.
