Report with predefined sections

I need to have a report with predefined groups independent of the datasource. If the datasource attribute matches that value it should display in that group else the group should show as empty with no data and summary row with empty values. e.g something like below e.g. (datasource does not have any java bean with category A)

 

Group Name - A

No data

Group A Summary

 

Group Name - B

Row 1

Row 2

Group B Summary

 

so on and so forth

 

The groups in jasper are tied strongly to the data present in the datasource (JRDataSource in my case). How can i achieve the above. I would like to avoid having separate datasources for each category and having it ina subreport or inserting dummy rows in the datasources for the categories not present.
