How to get report SQL / intercept filling ?

Hello,

 

I would like to intercept the report filling and retrieve the report SQL command Jasper will send to the database. This must be done after setting the parameters. After parsing the SQL the filling process has to be stopped under certain conditions.

Any ideas how to do that, eventually without changing Jasper sources ?

You cannot stop filling report but you can stop showing its effects, setting <printWhenExpression> on details band.

 

You can do similar effect before filling report. You can get query from JasperReport object (getQuery()) and if it contains parameters replace them by its values myself. And then you can choose to generate report or not.
