PrintWhenExpression does not display borders

Hello, 

I'm very new to iReport 5.5.0 coming from Crystal Reports environment. I spent some time and cannot figure this problem. 

Report has 12 text fields each representing a quarter and attendance information. I use the Print When Expression to print these 12 fields when the data is NOT EQUAL to a value. 

When the data is EQUAL to a value, it prints all the 12 fields with borders just fine. 

When the data is NOT EQUAL to a value, all the borders are not showing. The expected result is 12 fields with borders but are empty but it is just a blank area. 

I have checked Print Repeated Values, Print When Detail Overflows, Padding and Borders, and use text field properties etc. after reading all the items on Answer. Please advise, thank you - Linda

Hi,

printWhenExpression is not just for the value. It is for the component itself. You should use components' expression editors to achieve your goal.
