jasperbox
If the length of a text field we designed in ireport is 20 characters, but the length of the text field exceeds 20 characters, it seems the jasper report will truncate the EXTRA CHARACTERS automatically for me. I want to know if this is always the case? If this is the case, I don't need to do anything on the java side then? When I tried the date if the field length is too short, it seems doesn't display on the pdf.thanks so much!!
szaharia
Hi,Text fields have the ability to stretch vertically in order to allow their entire content to be visualized. There is also the possibility to truncate the text within a textfield, based on fixed layout requirements.Useful info about stretching fields and text truncation you can find in the JR stretch sample.Hope this helps, sanda
szaharia
Regarding the text displaying in PDF, be careful what pdfFontName you choose, because PDF fonts characteristics may differ from those of the report font.
