difference between permissions by role and permissions by user

 Hi,

 

I have a user that is assigned to a Branch_002 role, but i want to inhibit him from accessing a report from the Branch_002 role. So I selected the report in question,  accessed the screen 'Assign Permissions by User,  selected the user, assigned 'No Access" , and clicked 'ok'.

Unfortunately the user can still view that report.

Is there another way to solve issue, and what is the difference between the 'user' and 'role' permissions.

the reason user is still able to see the report is that Roles for the user may still be having permission to see the resource

Please follow these steps :-

- go to Manage Users

- edit the user

- check the roles assigned to user

- now , go back to resources

- select the resource and view its permission

- change the permission by role -> [ specific role for the user ] to No Acess

- change permission by user -> to No acces

- save the permission

Now, you should see the result u were expecting
