Generating a XLS Report

Hi there,

 

I'm trying to generate a XLS Report using iReport 3.7.1. The report consists of about 800 pages in a PDF format. I need the Excel file to able to filter columns. Although, when I generate it in an "Excel 2007 (XLSX Preview)", I do get the file, but in a highly distorted format. The cells are squeezed and some are very widely spaced. Some data disappear and filtering isn't even throughout.

I tried doing this in a CSV format, but the problem is that it's adding commas after lines.

Another problem with both the formats is that there aren't any borders.

 

What I would like to generate is a neat Excel report with borders and properly spaced cells. Is that possible? If so, please let me know how.

Hi,

To begin with I would make sure that all the text fields, etc are lined up (horizontally and vertically) and that there is no space between them.
