Help: Creation of jasper reports using java

Hi,

I am very new to jasperreport generation. Till now i have learnt that we can create a kind of report format using ireport and compile it with the help of java. i want to know that is it possible that we can create a report format with help of java and pass the data which we wish to see in the report through java. if yes then how?

Please suggest me any good book or any good link where i can learn that(the question i have asked)

Yes you can pass parameters to the report and customize the report.

 

JasperReports Distribution provides samples in which you caan understand how to get this done. Samples will be available in demo/samples folder of the distribution.
