Static report template

Hi,

1. I want to create report without query string. my report template is static how can i do that?

 

2. How can i make some text in static text field bold and some are not bold?

what you mean for static?
maybe you can use "Empty datasource connection"

2)
use styled text...
on a text field check the "styled text" checkbox... and use:

this is a text with normal and<style isBold="true">bold</style>  font

1.)  Have you tried to use a CSV datasource? XML, and Excel files are acceptable datasources as well.  I have only used MySQL as a datasource, but since your data is static the afore mentioned datasources should work fine.  Not sure of your deployment strategy but this file would need to  be accessible to your (deployed) report.

 

2.) You could change the field 'Markup' to rtf or html. If you don't want to do that then you could split the text; use different fields for plain text and bold text - I'd go for the 'markup'.

I mean with static report template that mean data on report is not change. all field are static text type fields.

 

1. i tried with empty datasource but it's not working when i click on preview pop up come up with no page to display.However when i give query with select * from dual with active datasouce it's working fine.

 

2. I m using jasper and ireport 3.5.1 version i can not see any option with "styled text" checkbox under Text property.

in the Empty Data Source modify dialog, set a number of empty record equal to 1. (or more if you use them...)

select a textfield and in the properties dialog, fint the markup element and set its value to "styled".

try to use also "html" value if you prefer.

but it's not working for pdf format.
