CDATA not recognizing &

I'm printing a bibliography out and using the STYLE attribute for the TextElement to underline the title of the book. The only way that I have figured out to print one field after another is to concat them all in one string, surrounded by the CDATA tag.

ex: <![CDATA[LastName, FirstName. "Chapter." from Title. 2005, by Publisher.]]>

Now, if any part of those fields contain the & (ampersand), then the whole text is displayed, including the <style> tags. If the symbol (&) does not appear, then the underline section works as it should.

 

*On a side note, does anyone know how to indent text that may rollover multiple lines?
