Suppressing headers/footers when run to HTML?

I am creating reports that can be exported to both PDF & HTML. If the report output is HTML, I want to suppress printing of all headers and footers.

 

My question is how do I test whether the current "run" is being sent to HTML or PDF?

 

There does not seem to be a builtin variable like PAGE_COUNT etc to test this, as far as I can tell.

 

Note that I am creating a Jasper Report via iReports. I want to be able to do this test by a print condition on the band.
