How to Disable Automatic Update Check for iReport?

Whenever I lauch iReport, it pops up a message saying there is a new version available.  Since I can't upgrade to the latest version due to some compatibility issues, I have to keep dismissing this irritating box.

I've gone into Tools---Plugins---Settings, and set the 'Automatically check for updates' to 'Never', but I still get the popup.  I'm presumming this option only affects plugins, so I'm wondering is there a similar option elsewhere to disable program update checks?

I can totally relate to your pain. Not sure what version you are using. I use 1.2.8 and was able to turn the message off by going to:

Options > Configure Plugins > Check for iReport updates > Configure > Uncheck "Check for update on iReport startup" > Save

Thanks kchaudhry, but unfortunately, v3.6.0 doesn't have that option (or similar).
