"print order" equivalent for a data group footer

I am working on a 3 column report with only a data group footer band. My goal is to make this band get filled horizontally,  in the same way "print order" effects the detail band. Has anyone come across a way to do this?

And what exactly is this group footer going to iterate on?

Can you post a screenshot to see what you want to achieve?

Have you tried using a subreport that is also a 3 column report template?
