Jasper Server as a Windows service

Hi,

 

Is it possible to make Jasper Server as a Windows service. Is yes can you please tell me the steps to do the same.

Please note that i already have Tomcat 6.0 as a Windows service (i am using this for my webapp), apart from this i have installed Jasper Server (for reports) which i need to run as a windows service.

Well, JasperServer is a java container which run on Servlet, therefore if the tomcat start as service it will also start the jasperserver (unless you set it not auto "deploy")

I am using the bundled Tomcat that comes with JasperServer. How do i make it as a Windows service?

Its very simple, inside the tomcat bin directory, there is a file called "service.bat". Simply execute that file in command line as " service.bat install"

As mentioned above, apart from JasperServer, i have another Tomcat which runs as a service. How do i make two Tomcats to run as services?

I wonder how the JS bundled can sucessfuly installed as the port will conflict (provided your earlier Tomcat run on different port)

You can install this service as different name, execute like this in command prompt (jasperserver is the new service name) -> service.bat install jasperserver

One more question please.

I want to add the logout button (only LOGOUT button and no menues) at the bottom of the screen instead of at the top, and want to customize the logout feature.

To remove/edit the menu, refer to file WEB-INF/classes/JI-menu.xml

To change the menu location, refer to file WEB-INF/decorators/main.jsp
