Force page break

2003-10-31 08:06

I need to force a page break depending on the amount of data I have in one of my detail band sub-report.

Here's what I have.

I have 1 master report and 2 subreports.

The layout is something like this

master

sub1___________________

| 1 | desc1 |

| 2 | desc2 |

| 3 | desc3 |

| 4 | desc4 |

|__5__|___desc5________|

sub2_____________________

| 1 | anotherdesc1 |

| 2 | anotherdesc2 |

|__3__|___anotherdesc3____|

As we can see the amount of lines that fits the first group is different from the second group.

The problem is that these 2 groups have the same items (numbers 1 through 5) but different descriptions.

And I cannot show on the first group items that will not fit on the second group.

On the above example I cannot show items 4 and 5 on the first group because they will not be shown on the second group.

The correct way to show the items would be like this.

page 1

______________________

| 1 | desc1 |

| 2 | desc2 |

| 3 | desc3 |

| | |

|_____|________________|

_________________________

| 1 | anotherdesc1 |

| 2 | anotherdesc2 |

|__3__|___anotherdesc3____|

Page 2

_______________________

| 4 | desc4 |

| 5 | desc5 |

| | |

| | |

|____|________________|

_________________________

| 4 | anotherdesc4 |

| 5 | anotherdesc5 |

|____|___________________|

Any ideas on how to do this ?

Thanks a lot.

Sincerely,

John.
