2002 JI Open Discussion
By: Darren Davis - ddavis539 Unwanted Quotation marks 2003-10-20 09:53 Hi, I'm using Jasper to create text files which match a specific file layout required by shipping carriers we do business with. The exportToCSV method is being used to generate the text file. A scriptlet is being used to format the lines of the file, padding with spaces where necessary, and then populating a variable with the formatted text which is used to print on the report. All of this works just great, unless one of the names or addresses contains an embedded comma. For these records Jasper will automatically add a leading and trailing double-quote around that line, which is considered by our vender to be an invalid character, causing the file to be rejected. Is there a setting within Jasper that will turn off this auto-quote functionality for CSV files - or is there another type of text file export available that doesn't try to auto-quote strings?
