Problem locating jasper classes

I am using jasper reports on websphere 5. I use jakarta common-logging with log4j. I am creating jasperreport from a servlet. I am not using xml for the design but compile the design dynamically. The problem is that the jasperreports classloader JRLoader is unable to pick the class from Jasper reports jar from the WEB-INF/lib folder. I have to specify the classpath to the JR jar at the application server level, even though only my web-app uses the jasper reports. How to specify JR to pick the files from the WEB-INF/lib folder. I have a clue that a system property can be set. Will that help?
