karthikeyan7585
Hi, I have just installed the iReport by extracting the archive. I am using Windows XP machine. When I run the "startup.bat" of the iReport I got following error. "Can't find the translation for key = gui.elementpropertiessheet.sheetProperty.renderType: using default (Render type)Can't find the translation for key = gui.elementpropertiessheet.sheetProperty.renderType: using default (Render type){query.language.mdx.enabled=true, query.language.mdx=MDX, query.language.xPath.enabled=true, query.language.xPath=XPath, irplugin.version=2.1, ireport.manage.datasources.enabled=true, query.language.sql=SQL, query.language.hql.enabled=true, irplugin.title=JS plugin {0}, irplugin.update.url=http://ireport.sf.net/lastversionji.php, query.language.sql.enabled=true, query.language.ejbql.enabled=true,irplugin.update.checking.enabled=true, irplugin.server.required.version=1.2.0, query.language.hql=Hibernate Query Language (HQL), irplugin.server.url=http://localhost:8080/jasperserver/services/repository, query.language.ejbql=EJBQL}Can't find the translation for key = gui.elementpropertiessheet.sheetProperty.renderType: using default (Render type)Can't find the translation for key = gui.elementpropertiessheet.sheetProperty.renderType: using default (Render type)" I opened the iReport and created my "XML file data source". Then I tried to proceed with that data source. But "Data -> Report Query" is disabled so that I am not able to proceed. I have attached the screenshot for your reference.Any guess why it is happening??? Thanks in advance. :( size=400]http://www.jasperforge.org/components/com_joomlaboard/uploaded/images/report_query_disabled4.JPG
Pedja
"Report query" is active only when you create a report or open an existing one, the screenshot shows that you don't have any open reports in the file list.
karthikeyan7585
Actually I am trying to create a report from the XML file as the data source. I have my xml file. What are the steps to create the report from the XML file in iReport?
Pedja
You have created a connection to your XML data source, then create a new report and use that connection for it. I never worked with XML data source, but I'm sure there are some tutorials and the forum is very helpful, try searching it for some hints.
karthikeyan7585
Thanks for your suggestions Pedja. Actually I was trying the connection without creating a new report. That is where the mistake was. Thanks a lot.
