Hello,

I am going to start a new report next week and would like to get some advice on where to begin. I currently have an intermediate level of understanding of Japser reports. What I need to do is create rows of items and list the quantities of those items by year (chosen by user dynamically) in the columns:

.....Item....|....1999....|....2000...|.....2001....|

.Item1......|....23........|....45......|.....34........|

The User will choose the start year and end year. The user can also add Items so if I could do that dynamically too it would be good. If I cannot have dynamic Items, it is ok, but It would be very nice if I could have dynamic items (rows) and dynamic years (columns).

Hi,

 

You are talking about crosstab reports.

This are not yet possible in JasperReports.

 

But with enough "courage", you can achieve

something similar using dynamic report designs

built programatically like in the "noxmldesign"

sample.
