Permission denied error at install

Hi all,

 

Using ./jasperserver-1.2.1-linux-installer.bin to install throws me a Permission denied error everytime. I have also tried installing version 1.2.0 but i got the same error. This is on a linux server.

 

I then tried installing on a windows xp using the windows installer version 1.2.1. This installed without a problem. But we need to have jasperserver on the Linux server and not the windows xp machine.

 

Why this error? Could anyone help me out here?

Is this forum alive by any chance or I'm wasting my time expecting help here? I have read things about lack of support from the admin to drive people towards using the commercial version of jasper and hence rendering normal opensource community helpless/supportless. Is this true?

 

Otherwise, is there a reason why jasperserver-1.2.1-linux-installer.bin will not install on a linux-suse with a root permission? I have tried searching the forum for related issues and bugs but nothing!

 

Why am I getting a "permission denied" error????
