generating report in an applet

Hi all,

 

I would like to use Jasper Report in an applet 1.4.2.

 

I would like to be able to show/ hide some fields in the report so I thought I could use Velocity to generate the jrxml file that I would send to JasperReport engine.

 

 

My question is aboutthe compilation step.

The applet runs in a JVM 1.4.2 so I won't be able to compile.

 

As I would like to generate the jrxml on the fly, I cannot compile the java files at developpement time.

 

I read somewhere on the web site that I may use a beanshell script instead of compiling java files.

 

Does anybody tell me how to configure it.

 

Any other solutions are welcomed.
