Hibernate+Wizard:Cannot Open Connection

2006-05-04 01:42

I'm trying to use the Report Wizard in iReport 1.2.2 . I can add a hibernate data source, and when I press 'test' the test is successful. However when I enter a query I get the message 'General Problem:Cannot Open Connection'

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Fixed it - the problem was that the relevant jdbc driver (postgresql, in my case) needed to be copied into the lib/ directory of iReport

I faced the same problem just today. I noticed that ireport is unable to build the hibernate connection just when it is started up from the exe file. Try to start it up from the bat file and the problem should be fixed. Probably this is juat a bug of ireport exe file but i'm not sure about that.

Obviusly you have to check that your class path is properly configured before doing this try.

It's a limitation of the wrapper that is not able to fill dynamically the static classpath

Using iReport.bat should fix the problem.
