Ampersand character disables styled text

If you set a static field as 'Styled Text', but have a '&' in the field, the text is not styled.

 

For example if I put "This and <b>that</b>" it will work, but "This and that & the <b>other</b>" will not be styled. (it shows the tags in the report instead).
