Problem running on UNIX and a followup quest

I have JDK (1.4) installed on Sun Sloaris(5.8). When I start ireport I get error :

./startup.sh: bad substitution

 

I am in ksh but even if I say sh iReport.sh I get same error. I see the starup.sh file does something with *.zip files etc but there is no zip files installed on Unix when I untar?

 

 

I can make this run on windows NT but have problem with UNIX. I assume the jasper file is portable so I can develop on window and copy on Tomcat UNIX and that should work via a jsp as long as I have corrcet jsp calls and jasper jar there?
