2005 IR Help
By: phoenixy - phoenixy advice on embedded iReport application 2005-05-27 06:00 Hi, I'm going to develope an application that utilize iReport to generate reporters from a mySQL database. I want some advices before I start digging the source code 1. The application's target audience is assumed to have no knowledge of SQL/XML. So what's the easiest way to map SQL to some sort of GUI drop box, so that the users could conduct search base on database fields? 2. Since the user is not expected to interact with most of the iReport interface, I was thinking about modifying the Wizard and let the users use that. Is this feasible? By: Giulio Toffoli - gt78 RE: advice on embedded iReport application 2005-05-27 06:22 1. In the future will be, but now there isn't. 2. You have simply to replace the Wizard dialog with your one. Yes, it's feasible. Giulio By: phoenixy - phoenixy RE: advice on embedded iReport application 2005-05-27 07:44 hi, for question 1, do you have a rough idea of far away the future is from now? Would 3 months seem to be enough? thank you, the program is awsome By: Giulio Toffoli - gt78 RE: advice on embedded iReport application 2005-05-28 14:13 I don't think. I have other features in mind. About embedding iReport, please note that iReport is shipped with a GPL license, I assume that your software will be released with this same license.
