Hi,

 

I have to create a report contains 2 pages in letter size (8.5" x 11"). The way that I can think of is by putting a page in the Detail Band and the second page in the Group Band (footer). However, first page already takes up most of the page height, let's say 7 inches, iReport only allows rest of the un-used page height for the other bands, such as the Group Band for 1.5 inches.

 

Well... what's the solution? Is there any way that I can expand the length of a Band longer than the Page height? or I should use another approach, such as using a subReport?

 

Any help will be appreciated.

Yes you need to use 1 or 2 Subreports. If both pages are always going to be a fixed size, like a mail merge letter with just the name and address changing. i would use 2 subreports. 1 for each page.

 

Set the report margins on the main report. set Zero margins on the subreports. Make sure the subreports will fit comfortably inside the margins of your main report.

 

Put each subreport in its own band for greater control.
