Problem when upgrade to Jasper server 5.5 from jasper server 4.5.1

Hi,

I have updated the jasper server 4.5.1 to jasper server 5.5 using install steps given in document(js-upgrade-newdb oldreports.zip) BUILD was SUCCESSFUL.Then I started the tomact to run the jasperserver 5.5 but I am facing problem like as below

By seeing above log I found that   Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'resourceType', table 'jasperserver.dbo.JIResource'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

My question is should I change the Database table but the database have been created automatically  when I run the "js-upgrade-newdb".I did not see any problem when I run the reports in jasperserver 4.5.1

Please help me any one face this type of problem.

I'm surprised you are seeing this error since the creation of the new 5.5 database and the import of all the resources completed successfully.

I'm wondering if there is a resource from your 4.5.1 system that perhaps has a null value (ie an empty field) and this is causing problems for 5.5 where the null value is no longer allowed. If this is the case it might be hard to find out which resource that is. If you turn on debug loggin in your application server (ie ttomcat) then we might be able to see which resource is causing that problem.

You can also modify the table constraint to allow nulls - but that would mean the same issue would most likely show up again in the future - so that is not recommended.

This problem is getting when i start the tomcat and also i don't have source code to debug.I have found in the "upgrade-sqlserver-4.5.0-4.7.0-pro.sql" file have the "add resourceType column to jiresource table, populated with data and create index" script it is available at the following location C:jasperreports-server-5.5-binbuildomaticinstall_resourcessqlsqlserver.

 

The Jaspersever database 4.5.1 doesn't have the columns.These columns are added when the above script file executed in updated of jasperserver 5.5.
