Install iReport-3.7.3.tar.gz on ubuntu 10.04

Hi,

I have downloaded iReport-3.7.3.tar.gz for Ubuntu 10.04.

I need instruction to install and run iReport.

You can try running

  <ir-install-dir>/bin/ireport

Also, up on the jasperforge, under the ireport project on the main page there are a number of "quick start" links.

There is a docs link in the menu of the ireport project and it has lots of info.

Oh, and regarding installing ... you just un-tar the tar.gz file (it will create a directory named ireport-<ver>). That's all you have to do to install. But... you must have java too because iReport is a Java Swing application. Can download java from the java.sun.com website.

I was trying iReport 3.7.3 on ubuntu 10.04 and it is not working. App can be opened but when a pop up is shut down all app is shut down.
