Migration from Oracle Reports

Hi,

 

I try to convert some reports written with Oracle Reports into JasperReports. In Oracle Reports there are "repeatable groups", are there any similar things in JasperReports? With these groups I can do the following, if the last three fields are in such a group:

 

datasource:

 

1 2 3 4 5

1 2 7 8 9

1 2 6 7 9

2 3 5 6 7

 

report output:

 

1 2 3 4 5

. . 7 8 9

. . 6 7 9

2 3 5 6 7

 

(dot means space characters)

Where can I find these in iReport?

It sounds like you want the option "Print repeated values" deselected for those fields. (It's selected by default.)

Hi!

 

It is a group problem. I have to group some fields and display the fields only if a group change occurs. JasperReports defines groups in a vertical manner, but I can move the grouped fields into the "detail group" and set the "print on group change" option for every field. So I can emulate the Oracle behavior.
