Supress popup when clicking on hyperlink

I have a series of hyperlinks in my reports. These hyperlinks execute external calls to a service(Reference Type Hyperlinks). For example the report/part of the report is sent by email when specific hyperlink is clicked.

The problem is that the option for external reference hyperlinks either opens a new window/tab when clicked or load in the current page, What i would like, is to be able to execute the external reference by clicking the link and noting to happen on screen, just execute the refernce. Basically, like a button that can be clicked unlimited number of times without any consequence to what is displayed on screen.

Does anyone have a suggestion how this could be done?
