    Hi,

I installed succesfully the Bitnami Jasperserver stack 7.1.0-3 in VMware Player. (bitnami-jasperreports-7.1.0-1-r37-linux-debian-9-x86_64)
Jasperserver works fine in VM Debian.

    My OS is Windows 10.

Both installed in the same machine. Ireport in my C:Program Files (x86)iReport-5.6.0 and Jasperserver use VM (debian environment). I'm newbie using
    this jasperserver.
In my browser Firefox, I used http://Host_IP/jasperserver/login.html, I managed to login and able to access repository.
But when I configured the JasperReports Server URL in Repository Navigator to add New Server in my Ireport Designer v5.6.0, I encountered an error.

Error: nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException:Connection refused:connect

I try to key in JasperReports Server URL as : http://Host_IP:8080/jasperserver --Failed
    then try http://Host_IP:8080/jasperserver/services/repository --also Failed
In the Account section, Username and Password was entered correctly.

When I use JasperStudio v6.6.0 to add the bitnami-jasperreports server -7.1.0 to the repository navigator. No issue encountered and added successfully.

Please help me what's going wrong with my Ireport and VM (with bitnami JasperServer) setup?..

I already checked with bitnami team. They suggested to use Jasperserver url in Repository Navigator without 8080 "http://host_ip/jasperserver/services/repository" but no luck. I'm getting Error (404) Not Found.

Then they ask me to forward the issue to Jaspersoft Community for clarification. I hope someone will help me to fix this kind of issue.

Appreciate and thanks in advance for any help..

    FYI,

We're coming up to the 3rd Aniversery of the retirement of iReport.  If runs on a newer platform configuration, Great! If it doesn't, use Jaspersoft Studio.

From the iReport project landing page,

    iReport/Jaspersoft Studio Support Announcement
As of version 5.5.0, Jaspersoft Studio will be the official design client for JasperReports. iReport will remain as a supported product in maintenance-only mode until December 31, 2015, meaning we will continue to fix critical defects in upcoming releases but no new features will be added to the iReport client. Continue to maintain your existing reports with the new Jaspersoft Studio!

    Hi djohnson53,

Thanks for reply, meaning that there's no way for me to fix the connection issue (add new server in Repository Navigator) between iReport-5.6.0
Bitnami Jasperserver stack 7.1.0-3 right ?. As for your suggestion, I need to use Jasper Studio to deal with JasperServer.
I need to clarify this with my teammate as now we only familiar using iReport for designing any web report. iReport is quite a light tool and more faster in designing any report.
Due to huge data to be retrieved and performance issue, we are planning to integrate it with Jasperserver. That's the idea.
Any advise and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
