- Updated Scheduling User Interface - The Report Scheduler now allows you to disable scheduled jobs (without deleting them) and provides more control over the time and recurrence of your scheduled jobs. The scheduler also offers new output options to FTP server and the host server file system; more options to embed report output as HTML in an email body or as ZIP file attachments; and more control over success and failure notifications.
- Import/Export Web UI - JasperReports Server now the ability to import or export repository objects from the web UI. Login as a user with ROLE_ADMINISTRATOR and click Manage > Server Settings to import a catalog or export the entire repository. You can export folders and individual resources from the Repository page.
- Clustering Session Replication - To enable high availability, JasperReports Server now supports limited session replication in cluster environments. In case of node failure, users' sessions can resume automatically on another node of the cluster. However, reports, Ad Hoc views, and OLAP views cannot be replicated, so the user must launch those again in the event that a node fails.
Note that high-availability is only supported when the server is hosted by Tomcat.
- OLAP Improvements - Jaspersoft's support of XML/A has been enhanced with these new features:
- XML/A caching - XML/A caching has been optimized to improve performance for XML/A connections.
- Test Connection - When defining XML/A connections, users can now test the connection directly on the current page using the new Test Connection button.
- Password Encryption -To prevent any database passwords from appearing in installation scripts, configuration files, or exported data sources, the installer and server now encrypt these passwords. When configured, administrators must enter a master password to import or export resources from the server.
- REST v2 Web Services Functionality - Jaspersoft continues to expand and improve the functionality of the REST web services. This API allows client applications to interact with most features of the server over HTTP using standard XML and JSON objects. With the completion of the v2 REST API, Jaspersoft announces the deprecation of the original REST API and the end-of-life of the SOAP services. While these services will remain available in the server for the time being, Jaspersoft recommends that you migrate your integration to the latest API available: Jaspersoft v2 REST API.
- Upgraded Installation Components - The binary installer has been upgraded to provide Tomcat 7.0 as the default version bundled with the installer. In addition, the default Java version bundled with the installer has been upgraded to Java 7.

- Ad Hoc Improvements - The Ad Hoc Editor has been enhanced with these new features:
- New Chart Types - - Users can now choose from Dual Axis, Multi-Axis, and Scatter charts in the Ad Hoc Editor. If your repository includes Ad Hoc views or reports that rely on the previous scatter chart implementation, they are not updated automatically. When you open the scatter chart Ad Hoc view in the editor, it appears as a crosstab. You can then change the view type to chart and recreate your scatter chart in the new format.
- Improvements to Grouping - Time series charts offer new group size options: group by hour and group by hour by day.
- Input Controls and Filters Improvements - The usability of input controls and filters in Ad Hoc has been improved. The user interface more gracefully handles large volumes of data and supports type-ahead for single- and multi-select operators.
- Report Templates - Report templates determine the appearance of reports saved from Ad Hoc views. Power users create report templates in Jaspersoft Studio and upload them to the server's repository. Ad Hoc users can select a report template to apply when creating a report from an Ad Hoc view.
- New Home Page Redesign - The server's Home page is redesigned as a Getting Started page that offers direct links to educational resources, recently-viewed items, the core feature workflows, and the administrator page.
- Reporting Improvements - The report viewer has been enhanced with these new features:
- Interactive crosstab report element - The Report Viewer now supports sorting on columns in crosstab-type reports.
Note that this report must use the crosstab component, and so must either be created in Jaspersoft Studio or be based on an Ad Hoc view.
Note that Ad Hoc-based crosstabs reports created in previous versions of the server do not support sorting. Instead, save a new report from the desired Ad Hoc view; this instance of the report will be sortable.
- Floating headers in table reports - In interactive reports, the headers remain visible when you scroll down through the report's rows.
- Report Formatting - The formatting dialog has been unified and expanded and now allows you to control more aspects of your report's appearance.

- Jaspersoft Studio GA -This version marks the first General-Availability release of the professional edition of Jaspersoft Studio, our new-generation advanced report creation tool for JasperReports Library and JasperReports Server.
- Improved Calculated Fields Performance - Calculated fields in a Domain or in Ad Hoc can be delegated to the underlying database to improve performance. Previously, calculated fields and any aggregation using calculated fields were always performed in- memory. Now, calculated fields are included in the Ad Hoc data policy settings that allow Ad Hoc to rewrite queries so that the database performs such calculations.
