Reports not loading after 5 concurrent uses of a data source

I have a 2 MySQL datasources that are pointing to the same database. The only difference is the credentials. I increased my thread pool to 12 in the js.quartz.base.properties. I am now testing the throughput and have scheduled one report to run in the background 5 times all at once. However, when I try loading any report that is using the same data source, it stalls trying to load the input controls. It seems like there is a setting or a limit of 5 concurrent reports running for one data source. Any report that is using the 2nd data source loads fine. This is not a database problem but some sort of jasper limitation.

Please let me know ASAP as no reports can run unless this gets resolved or it is answered with the limitations of Jasper.
