    Summary:

    Hyphenation in TextFields

It would be useful, if there was an option to use hyphenation for text fields. At the moment there is (only) an option to word wrap long text in TextFields. As a matter of fact long words, e.g. this-word-is-too-long won't be chopped and the resulting text field doesn't look very good. In analogy to word processors hyphenation could be introduced to solve this problem.

For easy implementation the hyphenator from iText could be used (see com.lowagie.text.pdf.hyphenation.Hyphenator).

I wonder why this is set to 'trivial, low priority' and is not yet been fixed.

    my report:

crosstab with fixed width columns, variable length of (dynamic) column header text (or any other text). Sometimes (often?) one word needs more space than the width of the column.

Is there a workaround for this situation?
